Our collective framework:

The Microfibre 2030 Commitment forms a common ambition shared with our community of signatories, each taking accountability for addressing the problem.

This formal commitment provides a clear direction of travel to deepen sector knowledge and implement practical action. Shared by all signatories, our commitment as a global collective is to work towards zero impact from fibre fragmentation from textiles to the natural environment by 2030.

Organisations signing the Microfibre 2030 Commitment have chosen to put fibre fragmentation high on their agenda, contributing to the development of knowledge and the identification of solutions.

Making this commitment shows that organisations around the sector are serious about taking action. By putting themselves in a position to influence progress, they will become the industry forerunners in the adoption of innovative solutions.

Under their public commitment, brands, retailers and research signatories have an obligation to submit the outputs of materials testing each year, uploading their results and technical specifications to The Microfibre Data Portal, an industry first repository of data, to collectively develop knowledge and root-cause understanding.

In addition to testing, signatories contribute purposefully in a number of ways. For example, by participating in topic specific Task Teams.
